Rod Smith

Our Director
Rod began his building journey 35 years ago after completing his apprenticeship and attaining his builder’s license, with his sights set on residential building. During this time, Rod developed his unique craftsmanship and cultivated a passion for bringing his client’s dream homes to life. With a hunger to learn more, he switched to the commercial sector where he crafted luxury multi-level apartment buildings.

Now, with a wealth of experience in his toolkit, Rod fuses his commercial expertise and artisanal craftsmanship to bring his clients a highly personal building service, where everything down to the last detail exceeds expectations.

Chris Smith

Our Supervisor
With craftsmanship in his blood, Chris completed his apprenticeship with Rod 10 years ago in the commercial building space before plunging into residential home building alongside Rod.
Dedicated to creating refined forever homes and commercial spaces, Chris works side-by-side with our clients to create timeless spaces that reflect their wants and needs.
When he isn’t on-site or nose-deep in blue-prints, you’ll find Chris working with Rod to take RM Building to new and exciting heights.

We engaged RM Building to do our renovation in 2017. From the moment the first discussion took place, Rod was upfront with the timeline of when the job would commence and the length of time it would take to complete.

The team were respectful, polite, and engaging. Along the way we encountered minor issues given the age of the house, however Rod and the RM Building team sought council approval as quickly as possible, together with changes we as owners made, and kept the build on track. We were very impressed at the quality of the build and finishes, and the way the renovation was project managed with builders on site every day.

Our Architects found Rod and RM Building to be of a high standard with communication being of utmost importance. This allowed for a very stress-free process. The site was left clean, tidy, and secure at the end of each day which was also greatly appreciated. We would highly recommend RM Build and will seek to use them again in the future
